Four Sign to Join Adam Hall and UVU Wrestling

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley head wrestling coach Adam Hall has announced the 2025 early signing class. The Wolverines will add four during the early signing period, with three from the Beehive state. The class is highlighted by the signing of Herriman's Layne Kleinmann, who checked in this week at No. 51 on FloWrestling's 2025 Big Board.

"The vision for this class was to go after the top guys in Utah who fit our program. We are fortunate to sign three of the very best in Layne Kleimann, Geronimo Rivera, and Jason Worthley. Along with top North Carolina transplant Ian Fritz, they fit what we were looking for academically, athletically, and personally. We have built strong relationships with each young man and look forward to helping them reach their personal goals. Our staff is excited about their future and their ability to win at the highest level. Go Wolverines!" said Hall.

Kleinmann is a two-time Utah state champion from Mountain Ridge High School. He has earned All-American status at multiple tournaments, including a semifinalist in October's Super Defense Soap Super 32. He has wrestled for multiple clubs, including Grapplers West, Prestige, Sons of Atlas, and Sanderson Wrestling Academy. He won last year's UHSAA 6A Boys' state championship and added winning first at the Utah Freestyle and Greco-Roman championships in 2024.

Jason Worthley is set to join Utah Valley from Westfield High School in Taylor, Utah. Last season, he placed second at the 2024 UHSAA 6A State Championship, losing to fellow UVU signee Kleinmann. He went on to win the junior boys' 2024 USA Wrestling Western Region in Freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Hailing from Hampstead, North Carolina, is Ian Fritz. He is a two-time NCHSAA 4A State champion and has added three regional championships. He finished his time in North Carolina with a 141-8 record. Fritz won the North Carolina Freestyle State Championship in May and placed second at the 46th annual TarHeel Classic in April.

Geronimo Rivera Jr. hails from Layton, Utah, and wrestled for Utah power Layton High School and UVU alum Adam Fager. He helped Layton to a pair of Utah 6A State Championships and is a three-time state champion. Rivera, Jr. has excelled on the national stage, is an 11-time All-American, and has won a national championship. At Layton, he was a multi-sport athlete who also played football. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, drawing, and dirt biking.

Utah Valley will be home on Friday, Nov. 15, for No. 3 Oklahoma State in their home opening dual at 7:00 p.m. MT in the UCCU Center.
