Jack Forbes Signs to Wrestle at UVU

OREM — Utah Valley University head wrestling coach Greg Williams has announced the signing of Jack Forbes to a National Letter of Intent to come and wrestle for the Wolverines.

Hailing from Littleton, Colorado, Forbes is a current high school senior at Columbine High School and is a two-time Colorado state champion. Forbes will come to UVU in the fall of 2021 and is expected to compete at 197 pounds for the Wolverines.

"We are excited to welcome Jack into the Wolverine family," Williams said. "He exemplifies what we look for in a student-athlete. He is an extremely hard-working young man who excels both in the classroom and on the mat. We look forward to working with him and helping him achieve his goals."

Other than being a two-time high school state champion, Forbes also recently posted a seventh-place finish in his weight class at the 2021 USAW Folkstyle Nationals in Iowa. He also previously wrestled his way to a fifth-place finish at the same tournament as a high school sophomore in 2019 and took fourth at Reno Worlds in 2020.

He is also a three-time region champion and a two-time first team all-state wrestler. He is also a two-time first team academic all-state honoree and was named the 2020 Columbine High School Athlete of the Year. During his high school career, Forbes compiled a 123-30 record and was a four-year letterwinner as well as a three-year team captain. He also picked up an impressive tally of 66 career pins and went a perfect 23-0 during his senior campaign.

Forbes was also a Colorado state freestyle champion and a two-time Colorado National Team member during his prep career.
