Hochstrasser
is an amazing athlete that, somehow, managed to be a
sleeper for the past three years, floating under the radar
of much of the sports and wrestling media. This
year, however, is different. A four-time state
champion, Hochstrasser is finally
getting the respect he deserves. He's not earning it
with his mouth, he's doing it on the mat, in Utah and
beyond. He has lost only seven matches in his
high-school career, one coming last year when he wrestled
for the championship at the Reno Tournament of Champions
(one of the toughest tournaments in the country).
More than that, on Dec. 19, 2003, he set the Utah record
for the most high-school career wins, with 144 (breaking
the previous record of 141).
2004 State Champion (130 lbs.), 2003 State Champion (119
lbs.), 2002
State Champion (112 lbs.), 2001 State Champion (103 lbs.)
2003–2004
Record: 38-1. High School Career Record: 170-8 with
133 Pins. Freestyle Record: 175-6. Greco-Roman
Record: 9-2.
2002 Record: 41-4 (State Champion). 2001 Record:
44-1 (State Champion).
This is
recognition long overdue.
