Wrestling Rankings for State of Utah Criteria
The criteria for these rankings compiled by UtahWrestling.org based on points a wrestler placed at the
tournaments listed below. Every
effort was made to be accurate, but if anything was
missed, please feel free to send any
suggestions.
If a Utah wrestler competes in a tournament, anywhere, anytime, and official results can be found, then the tournament will be counted for rankings. As a rule, there is one point awarded for each placement at the tournament. For example, if the tournament places the top four, 1st = 4 Points and 4th = 1 Point.
If it is a tournament with a Beginner division, and places are awarded for top 4 in both divisions, then the Beginner division will be awared one less point. For example, a Beginner division placing top four would be 1st = 3 Points, 3rd = 1 Point, 4th = No Points. If there are additional awards like Fastest Pin or Outstanding Wrestler, then receiving the award results in an additional 3 Points.
If it is a dual tournament, Points are awarded (3-6) for going undefeated, based on the number of duals. If the dual is an all-star event, then 2 Points are awarded for being selected, 1 additional Point for winning the match.
Last, a few tournaments also reward bonus Points just for winning matches. They are listed below.
