1A-2A-3A High School All-Stars vs. 4A-5A High School All-Stars

  • "Team score 31 to 24 for 4A/5A."  — Shane B.

  • "I think the small schools will win big this year.  103- I have no idea, so I guessed.  112- The powers that are ranked Shepard above Butler from Monticello, and I've seen him wrestle ... so Shepard must be awesome.  119- Good match, got to go with Mele.  125- Chamberlain is an animal.  130- Another great match-up; heard a lot of good about Holt, but I've seen Pentz and he is a 3-time state champ for good reason.  130- Don't know a lot about either of these guys, but hoping the small school guy wins.  140- Another great match-up ... Salazar won earlier, hoping he can again.  145- One of the best of the night, I think, two great kids; would like to see Wilson win, but I'm giving the edge to Holt after his TOC championship.  152- I haven't seen Wiser, but I've heard good stuff; but Sanders is on fire and wrestling better than the last two years when he won state twice.  160- I'm going with Wade, because he's my nephew and saw the first match when Knox won; I felt that, if Eldredge wrestles smarter he would have won, but that's a biased opinion ... this will be a great match.  171- Brown took 2nd at the TOC and he wrestles for Wasatch — going with my gut here.  215- Kinda like 103, I don't know, I just hope the Delta boy does the job.  275- I've seen the size of Taylor; I don't know Coons, but he better come ready to wrestle.  Good luck to all these great kids, in this match and on the year. See you guys in January." — Shane M.

  • "Great match-ups." — Craig L.

  • "Glad to see the Wildcard matches have been done away with. It's nice to see more kids get a chance to wrestle, but it took away from the "feel" of the overall battle between the two teams. Little schools win this one 29-19."

  • "Can't wait to see Wilson vs. Holt, and Elredge vs. Knox."  — Marcus M.

  • "Got some tough matches, it'll be a close one, but i'm leaning towards the bigger schools." — JM

  • "I think this is a good line up but I think the 3A-1A line up could be stronger. I would challenge every team in the state to go to the Rocky Mountain rumble and lets see who the toughest kid in the state really is."  — David M.

  • "Jorge Lopez is going all the way and in the 215 lbs. Joshua Skoglie is not listed and should be. He is going to take 1st in state." — Nina H.

  • "145 the match of the night!!!" — Brad G.

  • "These are hard to predict. There are going to be some great matches." — Gary C.

  • "Should see some great matches. It will be exciting. My question is where is the state's best wrestler (a.k.a. Jake Swenson, N. Sanpete)?" — Scott N.

  • "Should be good! 4A/5A will take it." — Eric M.

  • "Pretty good lineups. a couple of changes like Jake Swenson at 135 and Casey Smith at 125. Carson Brown in my opinion the most underrated wrestler in the state, Reno speaks for itself." — Steve

  • "I think Matthew Spencer from Lehi should be the 4A/5A 103, because he has beaten Keola Goodman the last two times they have met up. I also believe Bryce Phillips from Lehi should be the 4A/5A 130, because he has beaten the Box Elder kid with a pin and Holt hasn't. Phillips also went one more round in Reno than Holt." — Lehi Fan

  • "The small schools would have been better off with Uintah's 189." — Kris J.

  • "Why didn't the Viewmont heavyweight make it?" — Mike C.

  • "I don't know much about the 1A/2A kids, but good choices." — Clark H.

  • "1A/2A/3A will dominate yet again.  I think there are some wrestlers in this state that aren't on the list that wrestled at the All-Star Classic  last year ... but what can you do?" — Courtney G.

  • "This year we have some great match ups, it is going to be exciting to watch. I am especially excited for the 160-pound match." — J.A.S.

  • "Some great matches." — Rick B.

  • "I believe that 1A/2A/3A Will Dominate this dual." — Justin R.

  • "1A/2A/3A is a hell of a lot tuffer." — Zach C.

  • "4/5A is going to win!" — K.C. B.

  • "I'm picking wade Eldredge for the upset over Talan Knox. I also think that Jake Revoir from Juab does not deserve to be in at 135.  He is a good wrestler, but I have seen better at that weight." — Mike H.

  • "4A/5A schools should prevail this year." — K.C. W.

  • "This is a great event. The truth is, no one knows who will win. We could hold this event 10 times and get 10 different results. We all have our biases, so it's great it will be settled on the mat. Regardless, it will be fun and it's great for the sport." — Craig D.

  • "1A/2A/3A teams should take this one. Where is the almighty Jake Swenson of North Sanpete? I hear he has been hurt but is planning on wrestling at the Rocky Mountain Rumble. Even without Swenson, the smaller schools produce better wrestlers bar none. Should be a fun match." — Ben C.

  • "Go Big Schools!!!" — Lani P.

  • "I predict an 8-6 match advantage for the large schools but a 28-28 tie with the criteria going to the small schools for the win ... how about that!" — Brian P.

  • "Should be a tight dual meet. I don't think the big schools are represented by all their best wrestlers. Sometimes we put too much emphasis on what they did last year. Small schools might surprise again." — Coach B.

  • "Should be a good one!!" — Nate B.
