Jason Chamberlain Wins National
Wrestling Title
by Josh Martinez
Jason Chamberlain, four-time state
champion, ended his high school wrestling career at
Virginia Beach on March 28th and 29th with a national
wrestling title.
Jason had six matches. Two of his matches
were technical falls; this included his national
championship match. Two more of his matches were major
decisions. Two matches were just regular decisions.
When asked about how he felt before he
went to the national tournament, he said "I expect to win,
I don't expect to go anywhere and lose."
This is Chamberlain's second national
championship. He won his first national championship in
the 140-weight class last year. This win places him in
first for the start of this year.
Jason has been undefeated both his junior
and senior years. His last lost was at the Reno tournament
his sophomore year. He holds the record for the best
overall record. He holds a record of 191-2. He has four
state championships and two national championships.
He has committed to wrestle at Boise State
University when he graduates.
