Ranked No. 1 in Nation
Wasatch High's Cyler Sanderson, the
youngest brother of Olympic gold medalist Cael Sanderson,
is ranked No. 1 in the country in his weight class by a
national wrestling magazine.
Wrestling USA tabs the senior as the best
wrestler in the U.S. at 140 pounds.
Sanderson has an overall high school
record of 117-8, having gone 40-0 last year. He also
won his division at the Reno Tournament of Champions in
December, was a three-time Cadet All-American and a
three-time Junior All-American.
Also from Wasatch, Dallin Norton (275) was
ranked eighth; Lehi's Tyson Thompson (145) was ranked
14th; and Uintah's Phillip Keddy (1710 was ranked 23rd.
Payson's Trevor Mellon (120), Lehi's Rodney Sager (120),
Viewmont's shay Lawrence (135) and Payson's Kelly Kelsey
(145) received special mention.
