BOUNTIFUL — The Northside Wrestling team competed at the Fremont wrestling tournament on Dec. 1. A total of 34 wrestlers from the South Davis area competed as part of Northside, and coach Shandell Smoot was very pleased with the outcome. “The boys did a great job,” We had several place winners and other kids who got out there and wrestled hard.” said Smoot. “This was the first real competitive wrestling for a lot of these guys and I’m very proud of them for the way they competed, win or lose.”

Since 1995 Smoot has coached the Northside Wrestling Club, which has more than 100 registered athletes from age 5 through junior high school.
