The South Sevier Ram Wrestling team traveled to Manti
High School Nov. 22 to kick off the wrestling season
with the annual event as the Bi-County Tournament.
Each year this tournament hosts four teams, two teams
from Sevier County, and two teams from Sanpete County.
This has been a long lasting tradition for these four
teams with a traveling trophy presented to the winning
team each year.
It's a great tournament to start the year off with
for these wrestlers, said Mike Willis, South Sevier's
coach. It gets the kids excited about the year and lets
us know what we need ato work on.
This year the trophy went to the Ram wrestlers after
an impressive showing.
My kids came ready to wrestle, these kids work hard
all week in practice and look forward to a match, it was
a fun tournament to start the year with.
South Sevier finished the evening with 205 points,
followed by second place Richfield at 175.5 points.
Manti nabbed third with 175 points, followed by fourth
place Gunnison with 85 points.
