Campus Notes: Wrestling

The UVSC wrestling team had a nice showing at the 2003 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, placing 24th of 43 teams. The two-day tournament on Friday and Saturday featured Division I and Division II schools.  Erkin Tadzhimetov (133) took sixth place in his weight class, and Darren Cooper (197) was just one round short of placing. Wrestling coach Cody Sanderson was encouraged with his team's effort.  "Tadzhimetov is in a position to be ranked nationally after his performance this week," Sanderson said. Cooper also had an excellent tournament. I was very proud of our team this weekend.
