Campus Notes: Wrestling

The UVSC wrestling team had its first taste of Division I competition at the Cowboy Open at the University of Wyoming on Saturday. Five other Division I teams were competing, including Boise State, Oregon, Wyoming, Air Force and Northern Colorado. Erkin Tadzhimetov (133) and Billy Green (heavyweight) both took fourth place in their respective weight classes and Wayne Watts (157) took fifth in a meet that had more than 360 wrestlers. The Wolverines will be on the road next Saturday to wrestle in the UNC Open in Greeley, Colo.
