Wasatch Can't Repeat Wrestling Title at Reno Meet
Wasatch came close, but the Wasps were
unable to retain their Reno (Nev.) Tournament of Champions
wrestling title Tuesday. Wasatch finished the final rounds
in second, two points behind Easton, Penn., despite
winning individual titles at two weights. At 140 pounds,
Cyler Sanderson won his second title at the tournament
after winning at 135 last year. And at 275, Dallin Norton
won his first Reno championship after taking fourth place
last year and seventh place as a sophomore. Also from
Utah, Lehi senior Tyson Thompson won an individual title
at 145 pounds. He place fifth the previous two years. The
85-team tournament featured teams from around the country,
and is billed as one of the top high school wrestling
tournaments of the season.
